Our powered combiner rails (or powered guide rails) are used to eliminate back pressure in a combiner module caused by product dragging along guide rails. A powered guide rails consists of a complete drive and idle end assembly and drive unit suspended by bridgework over a combiner. The unit runs a chain perpendicular to the top of the combiner chains, creating a moving guide rail that helps carry product along as it moves from mass to single file. This prevents back pressure from causing product to spill over the edge of the conveyor as it tries to move to single file. Powered combiner rails are available with several variations of idle end take-up, either jackscrew, spring-tensioned, or pneumatic.
